The dance will be held in the Community Building at a date to be announced later. Norris Dover and his Midnight Riders will play for the daaee. The eight girls from the two high schools will be competing for the crown on a penny-a-vote basis. The girl with the top amount in her bank account at the close of the contest is crowned “Queen of Hearts" at the dance, while the runners-up become maids of honor. Proceeds from the dance all money raised by the candi dates will go to the Heart Fund. Date for the dance has not been set. It will be announced later. Mrs. Jo Edge is benefit chairman. Laughrun Returns Home After Tour in Korea Spec 5, Steve Laughrun, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Laughrun, arrived in Burnsville Saturday, after a year’s tour of duty ia Korea. He a’Tived in Korea with the 7th Infantry just after the Pueblo incident. After a two week’s visit with his parents, Steve will return to the Univer sity of Montana at Missoula, Mont., to do graduate work. Ho received his \B Degree from that Univf' prior u *r'.e' taf the Kr '•■■■ Number Twenty-Five NX. Agricultural Extension Service To Host Dairymen’s Conference The N. C. Agricultural Exten sion Service and Dairy Commis sion of Asheville Agricultural Development Council an March 5 will host the Western North Carolina Dairymen’s Conference, the conference to be held in the Administration Building (Room 113» of Asheville-Biltmore Col lege. The theme of the morning session will be “Quality Milk Production”. Regis'ration will bo between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. James W Huff. Associate Agri cultural Extension Agent, Bun combe and Haywood Counties will preside over the morning session. Outstanding speakers will be heard during this ses sion The meeting will adjourn at 12:30 for lunch, which will be held in the College Cafe teria. The theme for the afternoon session will be “Feeding High Production Dairy Cows”. Mar- • vin Songer, in charge of Exten sion Dairy Husbandry, N. C. State University, will preside. The meeting will adjourn at 3:00 p. m. Evangelist To Speak At West Burnsville Baptist Church Reverend Robert White, who has been an evangelistic prea cher all over the world will be speaking March 9th, 11 o clock, at West Burnsville t Baptis Chuich. Reverend White has preached the Word of God in Russia, Czechoslovakia, and East Geraumy. Reverend White, A Southern Baptist Minister, has been pas toring churches for die past 10 years. He has also served as Sta e Speaker for his church. He was appointed by the Gov ernor of Louisiana to serve on the Committee on Alcoholism. The Reverend Mr. White la appearing in this area as Area Representative for Underground Evangelism, which is a litera ture, Gospel broadcasting and missionary outreach to the peo ples of the communist world. It is active in 12 communist lands through means of “snuggling” ■mall pocket-size Bibles into Russia, short-wave Bible-teach ing broadcasts and is now as sisting over 300 “national” Christian workers behind the Iron Curtain as “Missionaries to their own people." You are invited to hear this man who has teen behind the Iron Curtain.
